Part Time Forensic Specialist I: $35.28 - $45.03 Hourly
Part Time Forensic Specialist II: $42.60 - $51.78 Hourly

The Anaheim Police Department is accepting applications for a Part Time Forensic Specialist I/II. Under minimal supervision, the Forensic Specialist will perform the full range of complex and technical crime scene investigation duties to include testifying as an expert witness in the presentation of courtroom evidence. Positions in this classification series are civilian.
The ideal candidate will be highly organized and efficient, possess excellent written/verbal communication skills, have the ability to multi-task, and work both independently and in a team, in addition to being a leader in providing excellent customer service.
This is a part-time position usually averaging 30 hours per week, but a minimum number of hours is not guaranteed. Based on qualifications, this position may be filled at either level.
Duties
The Forensic Specialist II is the full journey-level class within the job series. Employees within this class are distinguished from the Forensic Specialist I by being a fingerprint expert and the performance of the full range of duties, as assigned. Employees at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise, and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit. This level is fully qualified to work in the field, independent of supervision, even on the most complex cases and is expected to give expert testimony in court. Positions in this class are flexibly staffed and are normally filled by advancement from the Forensics Specialist I level.Earn a Degree in Crime Scene Investigation, Forensic Science, or Computer Forensics
