The Property and Evidence Technician is responsible for the receipt, documentation, storage, security, and disposition of property and evidence in compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Work involves maintaining accurate records, preserving the chain of custody, and ensuring the integrity of all items from initial intake through final disposition. Duties are performed in accordance with established policies and procedures to support law enforcement operations and the criminal justice process.
Employees in this classification work under the general supervision of Property and Evidence Custodian and exercise sound judgement, attention to detail, and discretion in handling sensitive or confidential materials.
