Salary: $47,000.00 - $65,000.00 Annually

The State Medical Examiner's Office (MEO), within the Division of Forensic Sciences, Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) provides complete forensic pathology services to 155 of Georgia’s 159 counties in deaths which qualify as coroner cases under the Georgia Death Investigation Act.

The MEO is seeking qualified applicants to a Computed Tomography (CT) Technician position. This position will be located at the GBI Headquarters Medical Examiner's Office in Decatur, Georgia.

Duties

Following protocols established by the Medical Examiner's Office, the Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist will:
  • Prepare the BodyTom CT scanner, including daily Quality Control
  • Retrieve decedents from cooler for CT imaging
  • Perform CT scans as per protocol
  • Transfer images/files to the GBI PACS system
  • Return decedents to cooler

 Earn a Degree in Crime Scene Investigation, Forensic Science, or Computer Forensics

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or diploma in radiologic technology from an accredited college or university or program
  • -AND-
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.

DEMONSTRATED COMPETENCIES NEEDED TO SUCCESSFULLY PERFORM THIS JOB INCLUDE:
