Duties

  • Timely preparation and set up of all on site laboratory exercises as well as the preparation of specific lab materials including media, solutions, cultures, and demonstrations
  • Prepares forensic science kits for online laboratory sections.
  • Keeps stock of all on site lab and kit materials and ordering new supplies as needed within budget restrictions
  • Receives and stores online laboratory kit materials for shipments.
  • Packages and ships the forensic science kits to students and to the HCC Bookstore.
  • Clean, maintain, and supply laboratories, preparation rooms, and storage areas.
  • Gathers any additional laboratory supplies needed on a weekly basis.
  • Maintains laboratory equipment by checking functionality and cleaning as needed.
  • Arrange for repair or maintenance of equipment within assigned areas.
  • Create annual inventory of equipment in assigned areas.
  • Maintain laboratory procedures for handling/disposal of bio hazardous wastes.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Dean of the BSTEM Division.

 Earn a Degree in Crime Scene Investigation, Forensic Science, or Computer Forensics

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency;
  • Experience working in a laboratory or similar setting;
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student body.
