The position is based at the Alaska Scientific Crime Detection Laboratory in Anchorage, Alaska. This role involves analyzing forensic evidence in a laboratory setting and performing case documentation and communication tasks in an office environment. The laboratory offers stunning views of the Chugach Mountains and local wildlife making it a uniquely scenic place to work. Occasional travel outside Anchorage may be required for court appearances, stakeholder training sessions, or external continuing education programs.
Duties
The Chemistry discipline of the Alaska Scientific Crime Detection Laboratory provides analysis of seized drug and blood alcohol evidence. Additionally, the discipline manages the Statewide Breath Alcohol Program, which includes the calibration and maintenance of evidential breath testing instruments statewide.Earn a Degree in Crime Scene Investigation, Forensic Science, or Computer Forensics
