This position is with Mississippi Forensic Laboratory in MERIDIAN, MS, LAUDERDALE COUNTY. This is an entry-level technical position that will serve as a Forensic Evidence Technician.

Duties

This applicant will be responsible for, but not limited to

Assisting with the maintenance of the laboratory's computerized evidence inventory management system;
preparing and sending physical evidence to scientists performing examinations;
on-the-job training is required;
provides instructions to forensics law enforcement groups, schools, and other entities;
assists in maintaining records of testimonies relevant to cases;
and helps with the preparation, development, and presentation of lectures regarding evidence collected.
Supervision is received from an administrative superior.

Earn a Degree in Crime Scene Investigation, Forensic Science, or Computer Forensics

Requirements

Typically requires an Associate's degree and 0-2 year of experience.
Experience with evidence handling is preferred.
