The Division of Criminal Investigation, under the Attorney General's Office, seeks qualified applicants for the Senior Forensic Analyst position in the Toxicology Unit. Analysts in the toxicology section are responsible for examining biological samples for the presence of alcohol and drugs, writing detailed reports regarding the results of analysis, and testifying to the results in court. This family of positions includes those individuals responsible for handling the physical evidence of a crime in a laboratory setting for agencies of the State of Wyoming. Under minimal supervision, this position is responsible for performing complex forensic examinations of evidence submitted by law enforcement agencies and supporting ongoing criminal investigations. This position creates written reports delineating conclusions of forensic examinations, presents the results in court as necessary, and provides expert forensic advice to any requests from the legal system, including judges, prosecutors, and defense attorneys. This position investigates crime scenes as well as determines what evidence should be gathered, documented, and analyzed for future forensic analysis/examination. This position may provide training and guidance to a small number of lower-level employees.
