Forensic Chemist (Seized Drug/Blood Alcohol Analysis)

Salary: $56,3581 - $95,797 Annually

This position is responsible for performing forensic analysis of physical evidence related to criminal investigations.

Duties

Duties include:
  • conducting laboratory testing of evidence by using established procedures, methods, and databases;
  • calibrating and testing lab equipment to ensure accuracy;
  • documenting laboratory results and prepares written reports;
  • testifying in court by serves as an expert witness, and preparing exhibits for courtroom use;
  • researching and developing new lab technologies, integrating accredited lab standards and policies;
  • and performing maintenance of equipment and instrumentation to ensure proper working order.

 Earn a Degree in Crime Scene Investigation, Forensic Science, or Computer Forensics

Requirements

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or Forensic Science ; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the duties of the job. Operating under a 17025 accredited Lab is a plus.
Licenses/Certifications
  • NC Driver's License
  • NC Department of Health and Human Services Permit to Perform Chemical Analysis of Blood.
