The Prince George’s County Police Department is currently seeking qualified applicants to fill vacant Crime Scene Investigator positions, Grade P18/P21, in the Crime Scene Investigation Division.
The incumbent is assigned to the Evidence Unit where he/she performs the primary duties of documentation, evidence collection, preservation, and processing of items of evidence related to Criminal Investigations. This position requires that the incumbent respond to requests for services primarily from sworn members of the Criminal Investigations Division. The incumbent, when requested, will assist other Divisions within the County with specialized evidence collection services. The incumbent will document all evidence collection duties on the appropriate reports. This position requires testimony in the court system. The incumbent is required to work closely with prosecutors in the preparation of cases for trial. Work assignments require knowledge of Personnel Law, General Orders, and Departmental rules and regulations. The incumbent in this position should have the ability to communicate well with others.
