This is a highly responsible position charged with processing crime scenes for physical evidence, and the proper collection and preservation of physical evidence for scientific examination, Crime Scene Technician is a member of the Crime Scene Section, which provides reports of these activities and maintains detailed records of all items processed through the Section. Crime Scene Technicians are trained as specialists in the collection, marking, processing and securing of physical evidence from a crime scene, Crime Scene Technicians assist investigating officers, detectives, and Candidates of the Crime Scene Section in processing scenes and searching for physical evidence. The Crime Scene Technician is under the supervision of the Crime Scene Section Supervisor.
