Crime Scene Investigation Specialist Associate

Salary: $35,673.00 Annually

Duties:

  • Entry level duties involved in the collecting, documenting, and preserving of evidence at a crime scene; and related work as required.
  • Shift, weekend, and holiday work is required.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School graduation or G.E.D. Equivalency Diploma issued by a State Department of Education.*
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • EITHER: One (1) year of experience as a Laboratory Technician I or Laboratory Technician II with the New Orleans Police Department in the Scientific Investigation Division.
  • OR: One (1) year of full-time experience in crime scene investigation.
    OR: Sixty (60) credit hours from an accredited college or university with at least twelve (12) credit hours in Criminal Justice, Chemistry, Biology, Forensic Science, or a closely related scientific field. Official transcripts must be presented to the New Orleans Civil Service Department within two (2) weeks of application.
