Forensic Evidence Technician - Crime Scene

Salary: $21.34 per hour

Duties:

  • Under general supervision, provides photographic documentation of crime scenes, collects, and preserves physical evidence.
  • Performs a variety of types of analysis of evidence that may be collected at a crime scene in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and department/division policy.
  • Enforces federal, state, and local laws as necessary.
  • Works under stressful, sometimes dangerous situations.
  • Must be able to work 12-hour rotating shifts.

Requirements:

  • High school graduate and two years experience as a commissioned law enforcement officer preferred.
  • Must complete required training and be certified by the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy.
  • Must maintain the required level of skill in the use of firearms.
  • Must possess a valid drivers license.
  • Must be in good physical condition.
  • Position will require a credit check and polygraph test.
