Duties:

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist crime laboratory analysts in criminal investigations with the examination and/or analysis of physical evidence submitted to the crime laboratory.
  • Assist with evaluating analytical methods and procedures.
  • Prepare reagents, maintain section equipment and logbooks, perform instrument maintenance and quality control checks.
  • Perform administrative duties and complete general housekeeping duties, including cleaning laboratory work areas, equipment, glassware and utensils.

Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A bachelor’s or advanced degree in physical, biological or forensic science from an accredited college or university.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Knowledge of terminology and techniques used in the forensic laboratory.
  • Skill in the preparation of reagents and the use of scientific laboratory equipment.
  • Knowledge of the procedure for packaging, handling and preserving evidence.
  • Ability to give sworn testimony in court.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
