This position is responsible for
  • Collecting, processing, and maintaining custody/integrity of all property and evidence obtained by the Department;
  • Receiving, entering in the computer system, and securing in the evidence room any and all property and/or evidence;
  • Transporting of property/evidence to laboratories for testing;
  • Processing of crime scenes; fingerprinting, photographing, sketching, measuring, identifying and classification of fingerprints, and
  • Testifies in court as required.


Formal Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
Training (License and/or Certification):
  • Must possess a current valid Texas driver's license.
  • Will be cross-trained in telecommunications within the first year of employment and then will maintain a current TCOLE license in telecommunications thereafter.
Experience Qualifications:
  • Some experience in law enforcement identification procedures and photography is preferred.
