St. Louis County Office of the Medical Examiner, St. Louis, Missouri

Salary: The typical starting salary is between $40,539.20 - $48,630.40 annually depending on the candidate's qualifications as well as budgetary considerations.

This position works within the Office of the Medical Examiner and is responsible for performing toxicological analyses on body specimens for the purpose of establishing cause of death. This position will focus on biosurveillance of drugs in material submitted to the toxicology laboratory.

Examples of Duties
  • Analyze body specimens for natural or toxic substances; maintain records.
  • Develop new methods and analytical procedures for analyzing biological specimens.
  • Review and interpret test results to ensure compliance with all policies and procedures.
  • Perform supply inventory and purchase items as required.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.


  • Bachelor's Degree life science (chemistry, biochemistry, or biology preferred) or forensic science and one year of related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
