Duties:

  • Receive and inventory evidence
  • Analyze controlled substances including but limited to marijuana, cocaine, heroin, fentanyl and amphetamines, including identification and quantitation
  • Proficient in the use of GC/MS and FTIR
  • Experience with NMR is a bonus
  • Create examination documentation for work performed
  • Issue forensic laboratory examination reports
  • Provide expert testimony on work performed
  • Work under FLS policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • Ability to obtain a clearance with the United States Postal Inspection Service (USPIS)
  • Recent (within the last 2 years) experience working in a local, state or federal laboratory
  • Ability to pass a yearly proficiency test
