There are four (4) positions available. All four (4) positions will be assigned to the Georgia Cyber Crime Center located in Augusta, Georgia. This is a sensitive government position.

  • Under close/general supervision, assists in investigating criminal activity by performing digital forensic examinations of data stored on electronic devices.
  • Documents and reports findings of examination for requesting law enforcement agencies.
  • Maintains knowledge of current technology and best practices to extract digital data in an accepted technical manner that ensures the preservation of or prevents the destruction of potential evidence.
  • The incumbent's responsibilities will consist of providing expert testimony in court regarding electronically stored information.
  • In addition, provides technical guidance and assistance to law enforcement officials involved in investigations.


  • Bachelor's degree in a related area from an accredited college or university.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - In addition to the minimum qualifications, preference will be given to applicants with work experience in one or more of the following:
  • Four year degree in computer science, computer forensics, cybersecurity, computer information systems, digital forensics, information technology or related field.
  • Experience in examining computer evidence in a forensic/law enforcement environment.
