Salary: Commensurate with Experience (Base salary is currently $49,367, but with acrossthe-board pay raises going into effect July 1st, the base is expected to go up to $51,737.)

Duties:

  • This is a responsible professional position requiring specific scientific and technical skills.
  • This position is authorized to work independently on casework with minimal supervision.
  • Forensic Scientist 4 is authorized to issue forensic reports at the conclusion of testing, perform technical review in their area of expertise, perform testing on complex cases, serves a lead worker, provides technical assistance to lower-level scientist, and render expert testimony when needed.
  • Performs related work as required.

Requirements:

Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four year college or university with a major in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, forensic sciences, natural sciences, or related field. Discipline specific educational requirements as specified.
Experience:
  • Five (5) years of training and experience directly related to the forensic discipline assigned.
Special Requirements:
  • A successful background check and polygraph examination (if not previously attained).
  • A valid driver’s license.
