Salary: $19.50 Hourly

Managers property and evidence on behalf of the Haltom City Police Department; processes crime scenes and evidence collected from scene; prepares and maintains departmental records; and performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Receives, processes, stores, maintains, and retrieves property and evidence obtained by City law enforcement personnel.
  • Maintains chain of custody and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements governing the processing and storage of evidence and/or property.
  • Assist offices on scenes by responding to crime scene, collecting evidence and samples of biological material for laboratory submission, complete crime scene photography.
  • Researches and assists in resolving property and/or evidence related matters as required.
  • Prepares and files property destruction orders with the District Attorney's Office; pulls and destroys property upon Judge's authorization.
  • Picks up and delivers evidence and property to courts, laboratories, and other outside agencies.
  • Copies and processes patrol vehicle footage and Crime Investigation Division audio/video tapes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.


  • High School Diploma or equivalent, and two years' experience processing and maintaining law enforcement property and evidence;
  • OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must possess a valid Texas Driver's License.
