Salary: $36,453 annual

This position is dual purpose to include property and evidence duties listed, as well as crime scene technician duties on a limited basis. Crime scene duties will consist of documenting, collecting and preparing evidence, including bio-hazards, from active crime scenes. After initial training, this position will cover Noon – 22:30, Monday through Thursday, and on-call on alternating weekends. Other educational and experience equivalencies may be considered for minimum qualifications.

Duties:

Responsible for the collection, preservation, processing, control and security of a vast array of abandoned, found, seized and evidentiary property in accordance with Department policy and as prescribed by State and Federal law. On scene crime investigation identifying and transporting evidence to proper storage area.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) with Associate’s degree and two (2) years paid fulltime experience in inventory control, crime scene processing or as a law enforcement officer; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Stocking store shelves does not constitute inventory control experience.
