Serve as a photographic assistant in support of photographic production activities; maintain a variety of records and files and perform clerical and photographic duties in support of the forensic photographic laboratory.


  • High school diploma or GED, plus two (2) years of clerical experience.
  • Clerical experience in a forensic photographic laboratory preferred.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License or the ability to obtain by date of hire.
  • Possession of a City Operator's Permit (COP) within 6 months from date of hire.
Preferred Knowledge
  • Basic principles of photography
  • Basic operational characteristics of photographic and video production equipment
  • Modern office procedures, methods and equipment including computers
  • Computer software within assigned area
  • Customer service relations techniques
Preferred Skills & Abilities
  • Learn to operate color processing and printing equipment
  • Perform basic arithmetic functions
  • Perform simple film processing, printing and reproduction equipment operations
  • Interpret and explain City criminalistics policies and procedures
  • Understand and follow oral and written instructions
  • Work independently in the absence of supervision
  • Respond to requests and inquiries from the general public
  • Communicate clearly and concisely
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
  • Perform the essential function of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
