This announcement will be used to fill a permanent full time position for a Forensic Scientist in the Toxicology Section in Springfield. The Oregon State Police Forensic Division operates as a state laboratory system comprised of laboratories in Bend, Central Point, Pendleton, Portland and Springfield. This recruitment will be used to establish a list of qualified individuals and may be used to fill Forensic Scientist 1 (FS1) and Forensic Scientist entry (FS entry) vacancies as they occur. This list may be used for future vacancies throughout the lab system.
Duties:A Forensic Scientist performs complex laboratory analyzes on physical evidence, devises analytical approaches to casework that may include research and/or generating or modifying methods, interprets analytical results, prepares written reports and testifies as an expert witness in courts of law.
