The Department of Public Safety is recruiting for three Fingerprint Technician II vacancies to join our team committed to public safety through public service. This position is part of the Division of Statewide Services and we are recruiting for full time Alaska Automated Biometric Identification System (ABIS) Operators in the Criminal Records and Identification Bureau (Bureau). These employees are responsible for the positive fingerprint identification of arrestees, applicants to sensitive positions, known and unknown deceased subjects, sex offenders, offenders required to contribute DNA to state and national DNA identification systems and other purposes. These positions regularly interact with the public, the Office of the Medical Examiner, Booking Officers in Correctional Facilities, Probation Officers and local, state and national Law Enforcement officers. These positions are knowledgeable in the use and maintenance of live scan fingerprint machines, and assist correctional and law enforcement officers in ensuring complete, accurate and timely fingerprints are obtained at the time of arrest or for employment or licensing purposes.
