Salary: Dependent upon applicable experience

This is a full-time, salaried position as a Firearm andTool Mark Examiner with compensation dependent upon applicable experience.

Duties:

Duties of the position include, but are not limited to, the evaluation, classification and identification of firearm and tool mark related evidence using chemical and instrumental methods, and courtroom testimony.

Requirements:

Minimum Requirements:
  • Graduation from a four year college or university in chemistry, biology, forensic science or a related field with an emphasis in physical/chemical science course work.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Fully trained and qualified Firearm and Tool Mark Examiner with prior experience working in a forensic laboratory.
  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in forensic science.
  • Participation in a documented internship and/or have performed the duties of a technician within a firearm and tool mark section of a forensic laboratory.
  • Prior experience in the safe handling of firearms.
  • Membership in the Association of Firearm and Tool Mark Examiners.
