Salary: Not stated

LVMPD internships are offered only to current college students and must be performed in return for college credits counted toward graduation. Internships are generally performed within one college semester. The following LVMPD units have accepted interns in the past: Crime Scene Investigations, Abuse/Neglect, Missing Persons, Violent Crimes, Financial Crimes, Airport Bureau, Events Planning, and the Forensic Laboratory. However, actual availability of internships in the different LVMPD units does vary from one semester to another, mostly depending on whether mentors are available. Interns have no law enforcement power.. They are students currently in an advanced stage of their college studies desiring to pursue a career in criminal justice or law enforcement upon college graduation. Typically assigned a mentor, interns acquire the necessary knowledge and skills while providing non-commissioned, non-hazardous support and/or research services to the LVMPD unit assigned.
