Trace Evidence Examiners

Duties: Upon award, Ideal Innovations, Inc. (I-3) is seeking Trace Evidence Examiners. This position requires staff to be self-reliant; versatile; comfortable working in a military expeditionary environment; diplomatic; and effective communicators.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Inspect evidence and collect and identify trace materials (fibers, dirt, grass, hairs, dust).
  • Deduce and develop possible origins of the trace materials.
  • Provide information to assist in profiling and signature analysis.
  • Maintain and document chain of custody of items and data.
  • Transition next tour replacement personnel.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or science with at least 2 years of related experience.
  • Experience as trace evidence tech for forensic analysis in military and/or civilian law enforcement.
  • Physical ability and commitment to deploy to Afghanistan or Iraq, working 12 hour days-7 days a week for six month deployment rotations on a US base.
  • U.S. citizenship with the eligibility to obtain and maintain DoD Secret security clearance.
