Fingerprint Technician
City of Henderson, Nevada

Salary: $26.09 - $29.87/hour

Duties: Under general supervision, performs examinations and comparisons of record fingerprints and palm prints; utilizes criminal and civil data and databases to confirm identity; maintains database integrity; and performs related duties as assigned.

Requirements: Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in criminalistics, forensics, physical science, fingerprint science, criminal justice, or a closely related field, and two (2) years of experience conducting record fingerprint comparisons, and maintaining data for a criminal justice agency; OR an equivalent combination of closely related education, training and work experience. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Certification as a Ten Print Examiner through the International Association for Identification (IAI), FBI, or equivalent; experience recording, classifying, and interpreting fingerprint patterns and pattern types; experience filing and searching ten print records; courtroom experience as an expert witness regarding ten print comparison and identification.
