Forensic Scientist I – Latent Prints

Salary: $51,251.20 to $66,851.20

Duties: The major duties of the position include applying the appropriate processing techniques on evidence submissions, analysis of latent print evidence; comparison and evaluation of latent finger, palm, and foot prints for identification; and entering latent prints into the Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS).

Requirements: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, criminalistics/forensic science, natural science or any other closely related field with laboratory science coursework. Two years of experience in latent print analysis is preferred. The applicant will be required to successfully complete a laboratory training program in latent prints and a competency/proficiency test before beginning independent casework responsibilities.
