Forensic Section Supervisor

Salary: $6,066.00 - $7,489.00/Month

Duties: Oversees latent fingerprint recovery methods, crime scene preservation, physical evidence collection, DNA recovery, photographic, video and computer imaging tasks relating to criminal investigation and the prosecution of criminal cases. Administers and coordinates the Forensic Section and supervises assigned staff.

Requirements: Graduation from high school or the equivalent. Five years of recent, paid work experience performing friction ridge analysis, crime scene processing and forensic photography. Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Forensic Science, or a closely related field is highly desirable. Two years of the required experience must include supervision; one year of leading and coordinating the work of others and completion of the City of Santa Monica’s Pre-Supervisory Academy may substitute for the two years of supervisory experience. Possession of a valid Class C driver license.
