Crime Scene Analyst Supervisor
City of Henderson, Nevada

Salary: $39.28 – $44.98/hour

Duties: Under general supervision, supervises Crime Scene Analyst staff in the field, laboratory, and the coroner’s office as they investigate crime scenes and collect, analyze, and process evidence in cases of all levels of complexity; and performs related duties as assigned.

Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Criminalistics, Physical Science, or a closely related field, and six (6) years of full-time experience in conducting crime scene investigations and performing lab processing/analysis of evidence. The required experience must have included two (2) years of supervisory experience.

Special Requirements, Licenses and Certificates
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license from state of residence at the time of appointment and maintain an excellent driving record.
  • Must have successfully completed the American Institute of Applied Science correspondence course in Forensic Science, or the equivalent.
  • Must successfully complete all applicable task and knowledge areas in the Criminalistics Bureau, Crime Scene Analyst Supervisor Training Plan prior to end of the initial probationary period.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Completion of 40-hour courses in fingerprints and crime scene techniques.
  • Completion of Northwestern University Traffic Institute or similar courses in fingerprints, crime scene investigation/reconstruction, crime scene photography, and blood stain pattern examination.
  • Completion of computer-based courses in Crime Scene Investigation and Fingerprint processing/examination.
  • Certified as a Senior Crime Scene Analyst from the IAI.
  • Certification as a Latent Print Examiner from the International Association for Identification (IAI).
  • Certified as a Bloodstain Pattern Examiner from the IAI.
  • Certified as a Footwear and Tire Track Examiner from the IAI.
