Duties: The Broward County Sheriff’s Office, a 6,300 member agency, located in Ft. Lauderdale, FL is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Forensic Technician for the agency’s ASCLD/ISO accredited Crime Laboratory. Employees in this classification perform highly specialized technical and scientific work which requires the accurate completion of a variety of standardized analytical tests, examinations, and procedures which may be complex in nature, but generally do not require interpretation of results. Position is responsible for the preparation, labeling, inventory, and maintenance of chemicals and equipment to ensure and protect the integrity of the testing procedures.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree emphasizing course work in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology, or related science; with additional upper level undergraduate course work in one of the following: Biology, Chemistry, or Medical Technology. Six months prior experience in a laboratory environment, and working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
